Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Purple Ivy (“Purple Ivy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our platform, create a Provider account, or book services through a Purple Ivy-powered studio. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three broad ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and information provided by beauty businesses (Providers) about their clients.
This may include:
- name, email address, and phone number;
- account credentials and profile details;
- booking, appointment, and communication preferences;
- payment and billing details processed by our payment partners;
- device, browser, and usage data (such as IP address, log data, and cookies); and
- content you submit through forms, messages, notes, or consultation uploads.
We do not sell your personal information. We collect only what is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
2. Account & Booking Information
When you create a Provider account, we collect registration details such as your name, email, business information, and authentication data managed through our identity provider.
When you book an appointment as a client, we collect contact information and booking details (service selected, date and time, policies acknowledged, and any notes you provide). This information is used to confirm appointments, send reminders, enforce studio policies, and support customer service.
3. Payment Information
Payments, deposits, and card-on-file features are processed by third-party payment processors (such as Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
We may receive limited payment-related information from our processors, such as transaction status, billing address fragments, and identifiers needed to reconcile bookings, subscriptions, and refunds. Providers are responsible for their own tax, refund, and client billing practices.
4. Client Information Entered by Beauty Businesses
Providers may enter or import information about their clients and customers into Purple Ivy, including contact details, appointment history, internal notes, photos, form responses, loyalty status, and communication records.
In these cases, the Provider is the business responsible for the client relationship. They determine what information to collect and must provide their own privacy notices and obtain any consents required by law. Purple Ivyprocesses this information on the Provider's behalf to deliver the Service.
5. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- schedule appointments and deliver booking confirmations and updates;
- send SMS, email, and in-app notifications you have requested or opted into;
- process payments, subscriptions, and fraud prevention;
- support Providers with policy enforcement, reminders, and client communications;
- respond to support requests and resolve disputes;
- analyze usage to improve reliability and develop new features; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We may use aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably identify you for analytics and product improvement.
6. Service Providers
We share information with trusted vendors who help us operate the Service, such as hosting providers, authentication services, payment processors, email and SMS delivery partners, analytics tools, and customer support systems.
These service providers are authorized to use personal information only as needed to perform services for us and are required to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law. We do not authorize them to use your information for their own independent marketing purposes.
7. Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong password and keep your account credentials confidential.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the Service, and as required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it in accordance with our retention practices. Providers may export or delete certain client records according to features available in their account, subject to legal hold requirements.
9. Your Choices & Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
You can also:
- update account information in your dashboard settings;
- opt out of marketing emails using unsubscribe links where provided;
- opt out of promotional SMS by replying STOP to a message; and
- contact us to request access to or deletion of your data, subject to applicable law.
Clients who booked through a Provider should contact that studio directly for appointment-specific requests; we will assist Providers in honoring valid requests where required.
10. SMS Privacy
If you opt in to receive text messages, we collect and store your mobile phone number, opt-in timestamp, and related consent records as required by law and carrier rules.
Mobile opt-in information and consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Phone numbers may be used to provide opted-in SMS communications, including:
- appointment reminders;
- booking updates;
- account and service notifications; and
- promotional messages, only when you have opted in to receive them.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Terms of Service for additional SMS terms.
